Often a great idea doesn’t start that way. We were brand new, just realizing what God was doing in our midst, and Pastor Chris Sheneman from NewSong invited us to come and visit and be encouraged. One of our members (read more of her story here) had been a part of NewSong before moving to Indiana, and had connected with our Pastor, Dan Catlin, in making sure she didn’t slip through the cracks. Little did we know how that invitation would become part of our DNA. NewSong began in 2005, and were in just the place to bless us and clarify our commission. Pastor Chris spoke from Jesus’ Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), and invited the whole church to pray over our little group of 25 or so who made the trip. Soon after we realized that building deep connections with other congregations was to be a big part of who we are.
